An affiliate program is a marketing arrangement where an online retailer (in this case, Amazon) pays commission to an external website (like ours) for traffic or sales generated from its referrals. When you click on an affiliate link on our site and make a purchase on Amazon, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.
How Our Affiliate Relationship Works
PickWiseGr participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. This means:
- We include affiliate links to Amazon products in our reviews, comparison tables, and buying guides.
- When you click one of these links, you are redirected to Amazon.com to complete your purchase.
- If you make a qualifying purchase within a certain timeframe (usually 24 hours), we earn a small commission.
- The commission comes out of Amazon's margin — you pay the same price whether or not you use our link.
- If you return the product, we do not earn a commission.
Our Commitment to Transparency
In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides and the Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement, we disclose:
- We are an Amazon Associate and earn from qualifying purchases.
- Affiliate links are clearly identified as such (they redirect to Amazon).
- All affiliate links use the rel="nofollow sponsored noopener" attribute.
- We display an affiliate disclosure banner at the top of every page.
- We include an affiliate disclosure at the end of every review and article containing affiliate links.
- We display a price/availability disclaimer wherever Amazon product prices are shown.
How Affiliate Income Affects Our Content
It does not — at least, it should not. Our editorial team operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Here is what that means in practice:
- No paid placements: Manufacturers cannot pay to be featured in our "best of" lists or to receive a positive review.
- No commission-based recommendations: We recommend products based on their merits, not on which product pays the highest commission.
- Honest reviews: We publish negative reviews when products do not meet our standards, even if we earn a commission on them.
- Editorial independence: Our affiliate partners do not review or approve our content before publication.
Other Affiliate Programs
In addition to Amazon Associates, we may participate in other affiliate programs in the future. If we do, we will disclose them here. Currently, Amazon Associates is our only affiliate program.
FTC Compliance
In compliance with the FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose:
- We have a material connection to Amazon as an Associate.
- We may receive free or discounted products for review purposes — when we do, we disclose it in the relevant review.
- Our reviews reflect our honest opinions, regardless of any compensation received.
- Affiliate disclosures are placed prominently and clearly, not buried in fine print.
Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement
We comply with all requirements of the Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement, including:
- Clear disclosure of our affiliate relationship on every page with affiliate links
- The statement "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases" displayed prominently
- Price and availability disclaimer displayed with all product pricing
- No misleading claims about Amazon or its products
- No use of Amazon trademarks in ways not approved by Amazon
- Proper handling of customer reviews and ratings (we clearly attribute them to Amazon)
- No email spam or unsolicited promotional communications using Amazon affiliate links
